Los Angeles-based Amadi Carpets started their contemporary rug production in 1995, when the company expanded to meet the market’s increasing demand for modern carpets. The family's experience in the industry has given them a great understanding of both antique and contemporary carpets, which has helped them to carve out a significantniche in the market-place. Amadi’s production is based in Peshwar, Pakistan and Kabul in Afghanistan, where there is an abundance of rich Afghan wools and highly proficient weavers, many of whom are Afghan refugees. Amadi is part of a community investing in the reconstruction of the Afghanistan rug industry and infrastructure. The company has a particularly strong relationship with its skilled weavers. “It is our company’s policy to give the

utmost respect and credit to our weavers” explains Zabi Ahmadi, “They are the true artists and the secretto our production success.” The Ahmadis view their clients as one of their main sources for inspiring new ideas which are developed by their talented designer Jawid Ahmadi. They are flexible and creative in their ideas and believe in experimentation to create the perfect design. The company's aim for the future is to produce the highest quality carpets possible and to ensure their customers’ satisfaction. "We want our rugs to set a trend in the market place” says Zabi Ahmadi. “We believe that great quality creates a lasting impression on our clientele.
