We are seeking a full-time Chaplain to join our Chaplaincy team and to take particular responsibility for pastoral and spiritual care of patients, their families, staff and volunteers in the Thanet Hospice. The successful candidate will be accredited by one of the major faith communities but be able to relate to those of all faiths and none. They will become an integrated member of the multi-disciplinary hospice team in Thanet and support the whole team in giving spiritual care.

As Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust implements the next phase of Shaping Health Services for Buckinghamshire, the Trust wishes to appoint a Team Leader who will work strategically to further develop effective spiritual care across three sites, including a number of specialties, in this acute Trust. There will also be opportunity to further develop the work of the Bereavement Services.

You will need strong leadership skills to work within a department that is committed to the ongoing training of chaplains, volunteers, ordinands, and other health care professionals, with a strong emphasis on reflective practice. You will share the spiritual and pastoral care of patients, relatives, and staff with the rest of the chaplaincy team and participate fully in the on-call rota.

You will have a proven experience in ordained ministry, and will have worked in a health care setting. Excellent team working skills and a commitment to personal and professional development are essential.
